I volunteer my time because there is an emotional connection. After all, I’m part of the larger Lebanese community abroad. For me, while I can’t change the world, I can at least be a part of improving the lives of those in a village close to my heart.
I am a mother myself so wanting to help children is almost an innate quality. I am privileged enough to live in Australia, but that does not mean I can ignore a parent’s cry from across the globe. There are no job requirements when it comes to charity, only empathy, love and passion, and that is where I can help.
