Technology represents development and advancement, and Lebanon is currently lacking this element of hope. Endemic government corruption, a broken economy, a pandemic and the destruction of the port, homes and infrastructure with the Beirut Blast has put the people of Lebanon in downward spiral.

In developed parts of the world, the use of technological devices has become so commonplace it is now an integral part of our daily living. In many respects, it is a necessity. However, for many Lebanese citizens, a television set is a luxury item.

As Winston Churchill said, “we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” In the spirit of giving, Steps of Hope has not only been helping renovate homes that were destroyed by the Beirut Blast on August 4, 2020, but has also given television sets to many families.

On the 28th of September 2020, our team visited Mr Jean Moukarzel, one of the oldest members of Gemmayzeh, whose house was destroyed during the explosion. We provided him with a new bedroom suite, as well as a new television set.

In this instance, giving television sets to those who lost so much in the blast is a symbolic gesture of hope.

Give Lebanon hope and donate here.
